For self-directed I’m learning how to model in Maya using subdivs. This week I followed a tutorial that showed some of the basic techniques for modelling in subdivs. The tutorial also showed how to model a simple pipe in subdivs. I learned that if you right click and going to into polygon mode (which is shown in the first picture), that you can edit the subdiv shape similar to how you edit polygon shapes. The second picture shows the subdiv pipe smoothed and rendered out.
